Lili Ahopelto

Subway musician profiles

Lili Ahopelto had an early start with her musical journey, starting with piano lessons at age five and accordion at seven. Shocking the judges at the TTC subway musician auditions in 2015 with her youthful energy matched with her traditional instrument, Lili played an arrangement of accordion favourites that kept the judges and audiences feet moving! Lili is a student at the University of Toronto studying piano performance and she holds an Associate Diploma (ARCT) from the Royal Conservatory of Music for piano, along with several classical piano awards from music festivals across Ontario.

She busks part-time, which not only serves as a job but as an opportunity to engage with other musicians as a learning experience. She also teaches private music lessons in piano, accordion, and theory. Lili has been a TTC subway musician since October 2015!
