Weekend service changes

The Ex is in full swing, and summer events continue across the city. Big name concerts, neighbourhood events, shopping, festivals, theatre – make the most of our hot August days and cool August nights…and the TTC can take you there!

  • Canadian National Exhibition – August 15 – September 1 

    Heading to the Ex? The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is one of Toronto’s biggest summer events, attracting more than 1.5 million visitors each year.

    Transit is the fastest, safest, and greenest way to and from the CNE. Whether you go for the food, the rides, the shows, or the competitions, the TTC can take you there!

    Extra service + CNE Express buses

    Throughout the event, the TTC will be running the following additional service:

    • From Dufferin Station – extra service on 29 Dufferin / 929 Dufferin Express, plus dedicated CNE Express shuttle buses to the Dufferin Gate loop.
    • From Bathurst Station – take a 511 Bathurst Streetcar or dedicated CNE Express shuttle bus to the Exhibition Loop.
    • From Union Station – extra service on the 509 Harbourfront route. Please note: The stop at Manitoba Drive and Strachan Avenue (Stop ID#1062) is out of service for the duration of the CNE. Exit the streetcar at the Fleet Street and Fort York Blvd stop (Stop ID#14508) and walk 7 minutes to the Princes’ Gates, or stay on the streetcar to Exhibition Loop. .

    Temporary Diversions during the CNE

    • 29 Dufferin / 929 Dufferin Express bus service will turn back north from the Dufferin Gate Loop.
    • 329 Dufferin Night bus will divert around Liberty Village, and serve Dufferin Gate Loop on the northbound trip from Princes’ Gate Loop.
    • 63 Ossington will turn back travelling westbound on King St West, south on Fraser Avenue, east on Liberty St and then north on Atlantic Avenue, to regular route.
    • 503 Kingston Rd streetcars will turn back east from King St West, north on Dufferin St, east on Queen St West, south on Shaw St and east on King St West, to regular route.
    • 510 Spadina streetcars will turn back to Spadina Station from Spadina Avenue and Queens Quay Loop.
  • Subway Service Changes

    Line 2 – Late Opening St. George to Broadview Stations – Sunday, August 24

    Subway service on Line 2 between St George and Broadview stations will be replaced by buses on Sunday, August 24 between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., for structural maintenance. Subway service will start by 10 a.m.

    TTC staff will be available to assist customers. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.

    Line 2 customers wishing to travel downtown can take the following surface routes from the accessible subway stations listed below:

    Dundas West Station – Board a 504 King streetcar or a 505 Dundas streetcar eastbound towards Broadview Station.

    Bathurst Station – Board a 511 Bathurst streetcar southbound towards Exhibition.

    Spadina Station – Customers can board a Line 1 train or a 510 Spadina streetcar southbound towards Union Station.

    Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for customers to purchase or load a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket and connect to surface routes.

    While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the end of service each night, it continues to require early weeknight and weekend closures to complete state-of-good-repair work.

  • Bus and streetcar service changes

    Temporary route changes: Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) – August 15 to September 1

    The following routes will experience changes during the CNE:

    • 29 Dufferin / 929 Dufferin Express bus service will turn back north from the Dufferin Gate Loop.
    • 329 Dufferin Night bus will divert around Liberty Village, and serve Dufferin Gate Loop on the northbound trip from Princes’ Gate Loop.

    Afro Carib Fest
    Thompson Memorial Park, 1005 Brimley Rd, Scarborough

    Celebrate the culture and diversity of Afro-Caribbean communities and beyond, showcasing cultural heritage through art, music, dance, and food. For information, visit the Afro Carib Fest website.

    • Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 – noon to 9 p.m.

    To get there on the TTC:

    • Option 1: Take Line 2 to Kennedy Station. From there, take a northbound 21C Brimley bus to the stop at Brimley Rd at Britwell Ave., then follow signage directing you to the event.
    • Option 2: From Scarborough Town Centre / Scarborough Centre Station take a southbound 21 Brimley Bus to the stop at Brimley Rd at Britwell Ave., then follow signage directing you to the event.
    • Option 3: From Guildwood GO Station, take a 905 Eglinton East Express bus to the stop at Kingston Rd at Lawrence Ave. Transfer to westbound 54 Lawrence East bus and exit at the stop at Lawrence Ave East at Brimley Road. From there, it’s just a few minutes’ walk north up Brimley Road to the park.

    Dream in High Park – “Romeo & Juliet”: now until August 31
    High Park Amphitheatre, 1873 Bloor St West

    Dream in High Park returns for its 2025 summer run. Grab your family, pack a picnic and enjoy the production of the ever-popular “Romeo & Juliet.”

    Nightly start times at 7 or 8 p.m., outdoor venue, weather permitting, running until August 31, 2025.

    • Option 1: Take Line 2 to High Park Station. From the main entrance, walk west to High Park Ave, then walk south to the lights at Bloor St West and High Park Ave. Continue through the lights, staying on the sidewalk to the left on Colborne Lodge Drive. Follow signage to get to the amphitheatre. In total, it is an approximately 20-minute walk to the amphitheatre from the station.
    • Option 2: Take the 501 Queen streetcar to the stop at the south side of High Park on The Queensway at Colborne Lodge Drive. From there, walk along Colborne Lodge Drive to the intersection at Centre Rd where you will see the path to the amphitheatre.
    • Option 3: On Saturday and Sunday, the 203 High Park seasonal bus route will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. between High Park Station and Colborne Lodge Drive. The last stop on the route is Colborne Lodge Drive at Centre Rd where you will see the path to the amphitheatre.

    Fan EXPO Canada
    Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North and South Buildings)

    Don’t miss the largest comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event in Canada and the third-largest Pop Culture event in North America. For details on this year’s fan favourites, visit the Fan EXPO Canada website.

    • Friday, August 22 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Saturday, August 23 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Sunday, August 24 – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    • Option 1: Take Line 1 to Union Station and walk west on Front St West to enter the North Building, or take the Skywalk to access the South Building.
    • Option 2: If you are travelling on bus or streetcar routes in the downtown core, the 510 Spadina, 19 Bay, 97 Yonge, 114 Queens Quay East and 121 Esplanade-River routes will get you to and from Union Station where it’s a short walk to the Convention Centre.

    Mabuhay Philippines Festival
    Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St West

    A weekend celebration of Filipino food, music, culture, fashion and art, plus the Battle at the Square Basketball Tournament. For information, click here.

    • Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 – 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    Summer in the Park
    Little Avenue Memorial Park, 22 Little Ave

    This year’s event explores the theme of Resilience through theatre, storytelling, music, dance, poetry, and by gathering as a community. For information on the performances, visit the Summer in the Park website.

    • Friday, August 22 – 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    • Saturday, August 23 – 1 p.m. – 9 p.m.
    • Sunday, August 24 – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

    • Option 1: Take Line 1 to Lawrence West Station. From there board a westbound 52G Lawrence West bus to the stop at Lawrence Ave West at Little Ave. Walk a few minutes north along Little Ave to the Memorial Park.
    • Option 2: Take Line 2 to Keele Station. From there, take an 89 Weston bus to the stop at Weston Rd. at Elsmere Ave. Walk a few minutes south west down Little Ave to the Memorial Park.

    TAIWANfest
    Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West

    This annual cultural festival explores the connections between Taiwan, Canada, and the world, through live performances, films, talks, culinary programs, exhibitions, workshops, and more. For information, visit the TAIWANfest website.

    • Friday, August 22 – 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
    • Saturday, August 23 – noon – 10 p.m.
    • Sunday, August 24 – noon – 6 p.m.

    • Option 1: Take Line 1 to Union Station. From there, take a 509 Harbourfront, or 510 Spadina streetcar and exit at Queens Quay West and Harbourfront Centre. It is an approximately 1-minute walk to the venue from the stop.
    • Option 2: Take Line 2 to Spadina Station. From there, take a 510 Spadina streetcar and exit at Queens Quay West and Harbourfront Centre. It is an approximately 1-minute walk to the venue from the stop.
    • Option 3: From St Andrew Station, it’s a 15-minute walk south to the venue.
  • Friday, August 22 

    My Chemical Romance – 7 p.m.
    Rogers Centre, 1 Blue Jays Way

    Heading to the concert? The TTC can take you there!

    • Option 1: Take Line 1 to Union Station. From there, exit the station and walk west along the south side of Front St West to Rogers Centre. Alternatively, you can take the SkyWalk indoor path connecting Union Station to the CN Tower and Rogers Centre.
    • Option 2: If you are travelling on bus or streetcar routes in the downtown core, the 510 Spadina, 19 Bay, 97 Yonge, 114 Queens Quay East and 121 Esplanade-River routes will get you to and from the show. 
  • Saturday August 23 

    Harbourfront Farmers Market – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    The Commons at Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West

    Enjoy seasonal produce, meats and products with Ontario's farmers and small-batch producers at the Harbourfront Farmers Market Saturday until September 27.

    For those heading to the Farmers Market, here a few ways the TTC can take you there:

    • Option 1: Take Line 1 to Union Station. From there, take a 509 Harbourfront, or 510 Spadina streetcar and exit at Queens Quay West and Harbourfront Centre. It is an approximately 1-minute walk to the venue from the stop.
    • Option 2: Take Line 2 to Spadina Station. From there, take a 510 Spadina streetcar and exit at Queens Quay West and Harbourfront Centre. It is an approximately 1-minute walk to the venue from the stop.
    • Option 3: From St Andrew Station, it’s a 15-minute walk south to the venue.

    Parkdale Music Crawl and Sidewalk Sale – 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
    Queen St West from Roncesvalles to Dufferin

    Stroll along Queen St W and enjoy the sounds of the city, with activities for all ages including family areas, jazz bands, DJs and more. For a lineup of events, visit the Parkdale Village BIA website.

    Want to shop and bop? The TTC can take you there!

    • Option 1: Take Line 2 to Dufferin Station. From there, take a southbound 29 Dufferin bus to the stop at Dufferin St at Queen St West., and you’re right at the east end of the event.
    • Option 2: Take Line 2 to Dundas West Station. From there, board an eastbound 504 King streetcar to the stop at Roncesvalles Ave at Queen St West, at the west end of the event.
    • Option 3: Take a 501 Queen streetcar to the stop at Dufferin St at Queen St West., and you’re right at the east end of the event.

    Toronto Argonauts vs BC Lions – 3 p.m.
    BMO Field, 170 Princes’ Blvd, Exhibition Place

    • Option 1: Take Line 1 to Union Station. From there, take a 509 Harbourfront streetcar towards Exhibition Loop. Exit at Exhibition Loop, then follow directional signage to BMO Field.
    • Option 2: Take Line 2 to Bathurst Station. From there, take a southbound 511 Bathurst streetcar to Exhibition Loop. Exit at Exhibition Loop, then follow directional signage to BMO Field.
    • Option 3: Take Line 2 to Ossington station. From there, take a 63 Ossington bus southbound towards Liberty Village and exit at Strachan Ave at East Liberty St. From there, it’s approximately a 10-minute walk to BMO Field.

    Note: Due to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), you may need to leave more time to get to the game. You can access CNE grounds for free with your BMO Field ticket.

    The Academy Presents The Hustle – 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
    Trillium Park, 955 Lake Shore Blvd West

    The longest running concert series in Canada featuring hip hop and R&B artists is celebrating its 10th anniversary with some of the favourite alumni from past years.

    • Option 1: Take Line 2 to Bathurst Station, take a southbound 511 Bathurst streetcar to Exhibition Loop. From there, follow directional signage to Trillium Park, east of Budweiser Stage.
    • Option 2: Take Line 1 to Union Station. From there, take a 509 Harbourfront streetcar from Union Station to Exhibition Loop. From there, follow directional signage to Trillium Park, east of Budweiser Stage.

    Note – you may have to detour around Exhibition Place to reach Trillium Park due to the Canadian National Exhibition.

    Blue Rodeo with special guests Allison Russell and Aysanabee – 6:45 p.m.

    • Option 2: If you are travelling on bus or streetcar routes in the downtown core, the 510 Spadina, 19 Bay, 97 Yonge, 114 Queens Quay East and 121 Esplanade-River routes will get you to and from Union Station. The Scotiabank Arena entrance is a short walk south down Bay St from Union Station.
  • Sunday August 24 

    City Hall Live – 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Trillium Park, 955 Lake Shore Blvd West

    A Little Afternoon Music with Charlotte Siegel and Nate Ben-Horin – 4 p.m.
    Toronto Music Garden, Harbourfront Centre, 479 Queens Quay West

    Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio graduate Charlotte Siegel is joined by pianist Nate Ben-Horin as they perform their favourite opera arias, songs and musical theatre numbers.

    Coheed & Cambria – Taking Back Sunday – 6:30 p.m.
    Budweiser Stage, 909 Lakeshore Blvd West

    For those attending the concert, here are two ways the TTC can take you there:

    • Option 1: Take Line 2 to Bathurst Station. From there, take a southbound 511 Bathurst streetcar to Exhibition Loop. Exit at Exhibition Loop, then follow directional signage to Budweiser Stage.
    • Option 2: Take Line 1 to Union Station. From there take a 509 Harbourfront streetcar to Exhibition Loop. Exit at Exhibition Loop, then follow directional signage to Budweiser Stage.

    Oasis – 7:30 p.m.
    Rogers Stadium, 105 Carl Hall Rd, North York

    To get to the concert using the TTC, take Line 1 to Downsview Station. From there, it’s a short walk to the venue.

    Christie Pits Film Festival – Closing Night
    Christie Pits Park, 750 Bloor St West

    Bring your blankets and chairs and gather together to sit on the berms at Christie Pits park and enjoy movies after dark Sunday from July 6 to August 24.

    Concessions open at 6 p.m., showtime starts at sundown.
