Important changes to 29/329 Dufferin, 929 Dufferin Express, 304/504 King and 503 Kingston Rd service
Updated October 29, 2025
Starting Thursday, October 30, regular bus service will resume on 29/329 Dufferin and 929 Dufferin Express buses as major construction at the intersection of King Street West and Dufferin Street ends.
The City of Toronto and the TTC began work in late September replacing aging streetcar tracks and sidewalk replacement and tactile plate installation at King Street West and Dufferin Street which was projected to continue until mid-November. With the reopening of the intersection, the TTC can now resume bus service earlier than anticipated.
304/504 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars will continue to divert around the intersection of King Street West and Dufferin Street while the TTC tests and commissions the newly installed streetcar tracks over the next few days.
29 Dufferin, 329 Dufferin and 929 Dufferin Express routes will resume regular routing. 29A Dufferin and 929 Dufferin Express buses will resume operating between Wilson Station and Dufferin Gate Loop, while 29C Dufferin and 329 Dufferin buses will resume providing service to Exhibition (Princes’ Gates).
- 304/504 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars will continue to divert via Queen Street West between Roncesvalles Avenue and Shaw Street.
- 504B King streetcars will continue to operate to Bathurst Street (Wolseley Loop) instead of Dufferin Gate Loop.
- 503 Kingston Rd buses will be temporarily extended, operating between Roncesvalles Avenue and Bingham Loop (Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue) via King Street West.
- Customers travelling on 304 King, 504A King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars can also remain on board the vehicles which will divert via Queen and Shaw streets to King Street West.
- 402 Parkdale Community Bus service will continue operating along regular routing from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays only.
- Wheel-Trans services will remain accessible in all areas where local traffic is permitted.
Please note: Effective October 30, 2025, TTC’s routes and schedules pages and most trip planning apps will not show route diversions for the 304 King, 503 Kingston Rd, 504 King and 508 Lake Shore while the TTC tests and commissions newly installed streetcar tracks over the next few days. Diversions will only partially register on the Transit app through its detour module and travel time calculations will no longer be accurate. Please call the Customer Information team at 416-393-4636 for help planning your trip.
Rail and concrete repairs are essential across the streetcar network to maintain safe and reliable service. While it may seem frequent, these repairs are necessary due to the wear and tear caused by the frequent streetcar operations, as well as deterioration from other road users and adverse weather conditions.
