Phase 1 Restoration Work
Starting as early asSeptember 22 and for approximately three weeks, Toronto Hydro will install new poles at each of the four corners of Spadina Road and Lowther Avenue, and relocate overhead wires at the intersection. This work is part of Phase 1 restoration on the west side of Spadina Road (at Lowther Avenue) and Phase 2 commencement on the east side of Spadina Road (at Lowther Avenue).
At approximately 6:00 a.m. on September 22, the two open lanes on Spadina Road at Lowther Avenue will be shifted to the center of the roadway. This shift is happening before rush hour to reduce traffic impacts. Once the shift has happened, Toronto Hydro will occupy the curb lanes for the installation and relocation work.
What to Expect
One southbound and one northbound lane will continue to be open.
Noise, vibration, and dust are expected.
Construction vehicles, including a hydrovac truck, are expected to be on the site.
Toronto Hydro and its subcontractor’s crew are expected to be on the site.
Work hours
Construction work is expected to occur Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some work on weekends and overnight may be required.
Transit Service
No new impact on transit service is expected due to this work.
