Queens Quay and Bathurst Street - underground conduit repair
Effective June 16, 2025 to June 17, 2025
What we are doing and why
On June 16 and 17, TTC track crews will return to the Queens Quay and Bathurst Street/Eireann Quay intersection to repair a blocked conduit. Crews must excavate two small sections of the streetcar track to clear the conduit. The conduit repair is required to restore regular service on the 509 Harbourfront streetcar on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Work activities, hours, and timeline
TTC crews will set up the work zone and begin working on the morning of June 16.
Crews will work 24/7 until the end of the day on June 17.
Work will occur in the two sections highlighted in the map and consist of concrete milling, concrete saw-cutting, concrete breaking/removal, conduit repair, and new concrete placement.
Noise is expected, especially during concrete breaking/removal, which will end in the evening of June 16.
Motorist, cyclist, and pedestrian impacts during construction
Travel lanes will not be impacted as crews work in the streetcar lanes.
Turn movements at the intersection will not be impacted
Pedestrian crossings at the intersection will not be impacted/moved.
A paid duty officer will be in on-site to ensure safety and assist with traffic management.
TTC service impacts
There are no impacts to TTC service as the 509 Harbourfront streetcar is temporarily suspended, and 511 Bathurst streetcars continue to divert further north due to ongoing overheard wiring work at the Bathurst Street, Lake Shore Boulevard West and Fleet Street watermain intersection. Learn more about these diversions at ttc.ca
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit infrastructure in Toronto.
