From Monday, June 8, to Sunday, June 14, TTC track crews will be conducting essential rail and concrete repairs in the area of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Third Street.
These essential repairs are part of TTC’s preventative maintenance program to ensure safe and reliable streetcar operations.
What activities, hours, and timeline • Work will begin on Monday, June 8, and is expected to be completed by Sunday, June 14. • Work activities will include concrete saw-cutting, concrete breaking/removal, rail replacement, and placement of new concrete. Concrete breaking/removal work will be conducted during the daytime. • Crews will aim to conduct noisy activities, such as concrete breaking/removal work, during the daytime; however, overnight work may be required due to unforeseen conditions or inclement weather. • Some activities will be conducted around-the-clock to ensure the quality installation of new rail and concrete • Noise and lights from construction vehicles/machinery should be expected.
Motorist, cyclist, and pedestrian details • All work activities will be contained within the streetcar allowance (centre lanes) on Lake Shore Boulevard West. • Traffic on Lake Shore Boulevard West will be maintained in the curb lanes. To create safe work zones, street parking and bike lanes may be temporarily restricted. • The location of the work zones may inhibit left turns. • Following the completion of work, all traffic restrictions and work zones will be cleared. • A paid duty officers and/or flag persons will be on-site to help facilitate traffic movements. • Pedestrian access will be maintained.
TTC Service – June 8 to June 14, 2026 • 507 Long Branch replacement buses will continue to replace streetcars between Long Branch Loop and Humber Loop. Streetcars will continue to operate east of Humber Loop. • Wheel-Trans service will be maintained.
