TTC announces extra service for St. Patrick’s Day Parade, upcoming service adjustments

The TTC is enhancing subway service this Sun., Mar. 15 for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Race. With no planned subway closures on Sunday, the TTC is the fastest, most convenient, and eco-friendly way to get to and from the St Patrick’s Day festivities safely.

Extra service will run on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, and additional TTC staff will be on hand at key subway stations along the parade route to help with wayfinding and provide assistance as needed.

Road closures will be in effect between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for the parade. The closures will impact service on the 13 Avenue Road, 19 Bay, 94 Wellesley, 97 Yonge and 506B Carlton replacement buses. A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance. Customers can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.

Monday to Thursday – Early nightly closures between St Clair West and King stations

Mon., Mar. 16, through Thurs., Mar. 19, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair West and King stations will end nightly at midnight for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance. Customers can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Dupont, Museum, Queen’s Park, St Patrick and Osgoode stations will be closed, along with the Kendal Ave. entrance at Spadina Station. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
