Regional travel and One Fare

Transfer between the TTC and other transit agencies to travel across the region.

Ontario’s One Fare Program allows eligible customers to pay once when connecting between the TTC and participating transit agencies.

PRESTO and regional travel

Loaded funds on your PRESTO card can be used on the following transit agencies:

• Brampton Transit
• Burlington Transit
• Durham Region Transit
• GO Transit
• Hamilton Street Railway
• MiWay
• Oakville Transit
• OC Transpo
• TTC
• UP Express
• York Region Transit

Please note: PRESTO in mobile wallet is not accepted on OC Transpo.

Ontario One Fare Program

With Ontario’s One Fare Program, customers can pay one fare when transferring between the TTC and participating transit agencies.

One Fare applies when you pay with:

• PRESTO card
• PRESTO in mobile wallet
• Interac® Debit or credit card (including mobile wallet)

One Fare does not apply when you pay with:

• Cash
• PRESTO Ticket

Your tapped payment method is your Proof-of-Payment.

How One Fare works with Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay and York Region Transit

Pay your fare using a PRESTO card, PRESTO in mobile wallet, Interac® Debit or credit card (including mobile wallet).

When transferring, tap using your original payment method on a PRESTO reader.

You will receive your free transfer and will not be charged another fare if you are within two hours of your first tap on the TTC.

Continue to tap using your original payment method when transferring to other transit vehicles during your journey.

How One Fare works with GO Transit

Pay your fare using a PRESTO card, PRESTO in mobile wallet, or Interac® Debit/credit card (including mobile wallet).

When transferring to the TTC, tap using your original payment method on a PRESTO reader.

You will receive your free transfer and will not be charged another TTC fare if you are within two hours of your first tap on the TTC.

When transferring from TTC to GO Transit, you will be reimbursed for the TTC portion of your fare if you are within two hours of your first tap.

You will then receive free transfers for up to three hours from your first tap onto GO Transit.

When travelling on GO Transit, tap off when you get to your destination unless you have a default trip set.

TTC-operated buses into Mississauga and York Region

Tap your PRESTO card, PRESTO in mobile wallet, or Interac® Debit/credit card (including mobile wallet) on a PRESTO reader when boarding a TTC bus or streetcar, or at a fare gate when entering a station.

Your two-hour transfer will be automatically applied.

When exiting a TTC-operated bus in Mississauga or York Region, tap your original payment method again.

You will not be charged a MiWay or YRT fare if you are within two hours of your first tap on the TTC.

When transferring to another MiWay or YRT bus, tap your original payment method again, even if you are still within your two-hour transfer window.

Who can use One Fare

The One Fare Program applies to:

• Adults
• Youth
• Post-secondary students
• Seniors
• Fair Pass customers*

Children 12 and under always travel for free on the TTC.

Customers using a discount fare must use a PRESTO card or PRESTO in mobile wallet with the appropriate discount fare type set.

*Fair Pass customers receive the TTC Fair Pass fare when starting their trip on the TTC and can transfer for free to a participating transit agency within the transfer window. If you start your trip with another participating agency, you pay that agency's adult fare and can transfer for free to the TTC within the transit window.

Monthly passes and regional travel

Customers with a TTC Monthly Pass will receive a free transfer when connecting to MiWay, Brampton Transit, York Region Transit or Durham Region Transit.

On return trips to Toronto, TTC Monthly Pass customers will pay the fare of the transit agency where they board and receive a free transfer to the TTC using their TTC Monthly Pass.

Customers with a monthly pass for Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay or York Region Transit will receive a free transfer when they connect to the TTC.

On return trips starting in Toronto, customers will pay a single-ride TTC fare and receive a free transfer when connecting to the agency they have a monthly pass for.

Customers paying their TTC fare using a Monthly Pass will not receive any additional discounts when transferring to GO Transit.
