Line 1 (Yonge-University)–Lawrence West to Wilson stations – Planned single-track operation, on Monday, June 8, 2026
Subway service on Line 1 between Lawrence West and Wilson stations will operate on a single track on Monday, June 8, from the start of service at approximately 6 a.m. until the end of service at approximately 2 a.m., due to structural maintenance and to improve restricted speed zones.
This will allow TTC crews to complete work on the opposite track while subway service continues on the other side of the tracks. Customers may experience train delays of up to 25 minutes between Lawrence West and Wilson stations during this time. Trains will be operating at a slower than usual speed between these stations.
Trains entering Lawrence West and Wilson stations will arrive on the opposite side from where they normally enter. Customers arriving at Wilson Station will be required to transfer trains to continue their southbound journey. Customers arriving at Lawrence West Station will be required to transfer trains to continue their northbound journey.
Please allow extra travel time to your destination during peak periods.
Shuttle buses will operate between Lawrence West and Sheppard West stations.
Customers can also take shuttle buses available to continue their northbound journey. Shuttle buses will operate between Lawrence West and Sheppard West stations.
Customers can also take alternate routes to connect to Line 1:
Sheppard West Station: Customers can take 84 Sheppard West or 984 Sheppard West Express to connect to Sheppard Station.
Wilson Station: Customers can take 96 Wilson, 996 Wilson Express or 165 Weston Road North to connect to York Mills Station.
Lawrence West Station: Customers can take 52 Lawrence West or 952 Lawrence West Express to Lawrence Station.
Customers travelling to and from Union Station from north of Sheppard West Station during the single-track operation on Monday, June 8, may choose to transfer to GO Transit at Downsview Park Station at no extra cost. Customers must tap fare readers before and after boarding GO trains and retain Proof-of-Payment.
TTC staff will be available on site to assist.
All TTC stations will remain open for customers to purchase or load a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket and to connect to surface routes.
Regular service will resume on Tuesday, June 9 at approximately 6 a.m.
This daylong, state-of-good-repair work is necessary to complete critical infrastructure upgrades that require more time than a standard overnight work window. The completed work will help us remove multiple restricted speed zones and improve system stability.
