Victoria Park Station Parking Lot Permanent Closure
What is Happening and Why
In 2019, the TTC Victoria Park Station parking lot, located at 777 Victoria Park Avenue, was identified as one of the sites for the HousingTO Action Plan (a City-led project that repurposes City-owned land to develop a mix of housing options close to transit and other amenities). In 2019, CreateTO held community consultations about repurposing the lot for new housing options, and the Zoning Bylaw Amendment was approved in 2019.
As of June 3, 2025, the parking lot will be permanently closed to facilitate the construction of the new housing development.
What to Expect
- Parking Lot: The parking lot will be permanently closed as of June 3, 2025. Currently, an alternative parking lot is available at Warden Station, located at 705 Warden Avenue (920 spaces). There are ongoing conversations about exploring alternative parking arrangements near the Station.
- Pick-up/Drop-off Area: The pick-up/drop-off area for Victoria Park Station will be relocated to the Dentonia Park Golf Course parking lot just north of the Station.
- Bus Stop: The bus stop (Stop ID: 11376) on the east side of Victoria Park Avenue, near the north part of the parking lot, will be temporarily relocated during construction.
- Sidewalk: The east sidewalk on Victoria Park Avenue between Denton Avenue and the north part of the bus lane and the north sidewalk on Denton Avenue between Victoria Park Avenue and the east part of the bus lane will be temporarily closed. There will be detours suggesting the opposite sidewalk on these streets.
TTC Service
Access to Victoria Park Station and the bus terminal will be maintained throughout this construction of the housing development. Subway and bus services will not be impacted by this housing development except for the bus stop relocation as noted above.
