What we are doing and why?

TTC will be conducting investigation work to locate underground utilities on Orde Street between Murray Street and University Avenue. This work is necessary to support the upgrades to the Orde Substation, including replacing an underground duct bank in 2026, as part of the TTC’s Line 1 Capacity Enhancement project. The Orde Street Substation Duct Bank Replacement project will upgrade substation capacity to support the subway traction power system, speeding up journey times and improving subway service on Line 1.
