What we are doing and why?

As part of the TTC’s Green Bus Program, electric bus chargers and associated infrastructure is being installed at Mount Dennis Bus Garage. This is being done to accommodate capacity provisions for approximately 300 electric buses through to 2035, when the garage is expected to reach 100% electrification.

What to expect:

  • All work will take place within TTC property, behind noise barrier walls.
  • Phase I of construction will include concrete removal, topsoil excavation, and compaction. Dust will be monitored and mitigated as needed.
  • Construction trucks, equipment, and site staff will be present in the area, including excavators, concrete saw, dump trucks, and soil compaction equipment.
  • Hours of work will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend and overnight work may be required.
  • Noise and vibration associated with construction can be expected with this work.
  • Traffic and pedestrian access to the sidewalk will be maintained.
  • For the safety of customers, the 71 Runnymede bus stop at Mount Dennis Bus Garage will be taken out of service permanently.
