What is happening and why?
Hydro One is upgrading the power line across a 6.5 km transmission corridor, including the Kipling Station area. This project is planned to enhance the electricity service on this corridor. The project involves temporarily relocating the existing power line, connecting the new power line to the newly installed structures to support it, and removing the existing power line after the new power line is operational. This construction work is happening in Kipling Station’s north and south parking lots and the immediate surroundings.
What to expect
Parking: North and south parking lots will remain open, but there will be a temporary reduction of parking spots in both lots. Approximately 50 parking spots will be permanently removed from the south parking lot.
Pedestrian walkway: Temporary closure of some parts of the pedestrian walkway. Detour signage will be installed.
Bike lockers: The bike lockers at the north parking lots will be temporarily unavailable.
Some noise and vibration should be expected.
Construction hoarding, vehicles, and crew will be present at the site.
Work hours
This work is expected to occur Sunday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some work overnight may be required.
