TTC’s annual Backpack Drive returns to help students and families prepare for the new school year. From August 8 to August 29, 2026, TTC employees will collect backpacks and school supplies for distribution to students across Toronto who need them most.
The TTC Backpack Drive demonstrates the positive impact that can be achieved when we collectively come together to support local communities. This grassroots, employee-led initiative began with a simple goal: to give back to the communities that we serve every day.
Through generous donations of backpacks and school supplies, the TTC Backpack Drive helps students start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Help us fill 1,000 backpacks with school supplies by August 29, 2026. We’re collecting new or unopened supplies for students from kindergarten to Grade 12.
