Line 5 Fest: Call for local vendors

Line 5 Fest: Celebrating Line 5 Eglinton

The TTC is preparing for the official grand opening celebration for Line 5 Eglinton, Line 5 Fest, on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Line 5 Eglinton represents a major milestone for transit across Toronto, connecting communities from Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy in the east with ease. To celebrate this achievement, the TTC is inviting local businesses, artisans, and community organizations along the Eglinton Avenue corridor to participate as official vendors in this event.

Additional details related to this event will be available in early August.

Opportunity for local businesses

The TTC is committed to supporting the diverse neighborhoods and businesses that form the backbone of the Eglinton Avenue corridor. Line 5 Fest will showcase the unique cultural fabric of neighbourhoods including Mount Dennis, Little Jamaica, Midtown, Leaside, and the Golden Mile.

Participation as a vendor provides an opportunity to engage directly with thousands of residents, transit riders, and community stakeholders during the official opening ceremony. Final selections will be based on achieving the strongest overall marketplace experience while supporting the objectives of Line 5 Fest.

Vendor selection criteria

Applications will be reviewed by the TTC Events Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Community connection – Business has an established presence in, or meaningful connection to, a Line 5 neighbourhood and contributes to its local identity.
  • Neighbourhood representation – Supports balanced representation across Line 5 communities.
  • Product diversity – Contributes to a varied marketplace and minimizes duplication.
  • Business readiness – Demonstrates the ability to operate safely and professionally.
  • Alignment with TTC values – Reflects community, inclusivity, accessibility and customer experience.
