Kennedy Station north Platform A closure

The north side of Kennedy Station Platform A will be closed for construction related to Metrolinx’s Scarborough Subway Extension project.

Starting February 18, 2024, most routes using bus bays on the north side of Platform A will be reassigned to new bus bays on the east side of Platform B. Some routes will be reassigned to the south side of Platform A. Some routes will continue to use their current bus bays on the south side of Platform A.

A new drop-off only platform is being built immediately to the east of Transway Crescent between Platforms A and B, closer to Platform A. All routes using Kennedy Station Platform B except Blue Night Network buses, will use this new drop-off only platform, which will reduce the time needed for customers to transfer to Line 2 Bloor-Danforth and connecting bus routes at both platforms. This includes all routes that were extended to Kennedy Station in November 2023 as part of the Line 3 Bus Replacement Plan.

Blue Night Network routes will pick up and drop off customers at their designated bays on Platform B. These routes will not use the drop-off only platform.

Pavement markings and new traffic signals will be installed on Transway Crescent at the roadways exiting from Platform A and the new drop-off only platform to ensure customers can safely transfer between Platform A, Platform B and the Kennedy Station concourse. Customers should cross only at these locations, following pedestrian safety signals and staying within the marked crosswalks and waiting areas.

TIPS for customers

To ensure your safety and save time:

Enter the station via the stairwell near the new drop-off only platform, as indicated on the map below.
Exit the station at the southwest corner of Platform A to access the street and Passenger Pick Up and Drop Off area or to transfer from the subway or buses at Platform A to buses at Platform B, as indicated on the map below.
Board any bus – whichever one arrives first – at Bays 11-14 (excluding night routes that start with a “3”) to get to Scarborough Centre Station. Maps and station signage include the following symbol to help identify these routes. Refer to the map below.

Changes to bus boarding locations at Platforms A and B are as follows:

Platform A, Bay 1 will be used for drop off only for all routes using Platform A except Wheel-Trans.

All routes using Platform B, except Blue Night Network routes, will drop off customers at the new drop-off only platform between Platforms A and B.

12 Kingston Road

12 Kingston Road will remain at Platform A moving from Bay 7 to Bay 3 on the south side.

20 Cliffside

20 Cliffside will move from Platform A, Bay 2 to Platform B, Bay 18.

21 Brimley

21 Brimley will move from Platform A Bay 10 to Platform B, Bay 17.

34 Eglinton East

34 Eglinton East will remain at Platform A, moving from Bay 8 to Bay 2 on the south side.

43AC Kennedy

43A Kennedy and 43C Kennedy, will move from Platform A, Bay 9 to Platform B, Bay 16.

43B Kennedy

43B Kennedy will move from Platform A, Bay 10 to Platform B, Bay 17.

57 Midland

57 Midland will move from Platform A, Bay 7 to Platform B, Bay 15.

86 Scarborough

86 Scarborough will remain at Platform A, moving from Bay 3 to Bay 4 on the south side.

113 Danforth Road

113 Danforth Road will move from Platform A, Bay 2 to Platform B, Bay 18.

116 Morningside

116 Morning Side will remain at Platform A, moving from Bay 4 to Bay 3 on the south side.

300B Bloor-Danforth Night Bus

300B Bloor-Danforth Night Bus will move from Platform A, Bay 2 to Platform B, Bay 13.

334 Eglinton East Night Bus (westbound)

334 Eglinton East Night Bus (westbound) will move from Platform A, Bay 8 to Platform B, Bay 14.

334 Eglinton East Night Bus (eastbound)

334 Eglinton East Night Bus (eastbound) is moving from Platform A, Bay 4 to Platform B, Bay 12.

343 Kennedy Night Bus

343 Kennedy Night Bus will move from Platform A, Bay 9 to Platform B, Bay 16.

905 Eglinton East Express

905 Eglinton East Express will continue to board at Platform A, Bay 5.

943 Kennedy Express

43A Kennedy, 43C Kennedy, 343 Kennedy Night Bus and 943 Kennedy Express will move from Platform A, Bay 9 to Platform B, Bay 16.

954 Lawrence East Express

954 Lawrence East Express will remain at Platform A, moving from Bay 8 to Bay 2 on the south side.

986 Scarborough Express

986 Scarborough Express will continue to board at Platform A, Bay 5.

Wheel-Trans

Wheel-Trans will remain at Platform A, moving from Bay 6 to Bay 4 on the south side.

Line 2 Shuttle Buses

Line 2 shuttle buses used during Line 2 service disruptions will be moved to Platform B, Bay 15.
