TTC increasing service for back to school and adjusting seasonal routes

The TTC is boosting service across its bus, LRT and streetcar network beginning Sun., Sept. 6, to meet anticipated higher travel demands as students return to class, and ridership increases after the summer months.

On Line 6 Finch West, customers will experience improved travel times, more frequent service, and enhanced reliability across the Finch West corridor.

Service improvements and schedule updates to better align service with ridership demand on 30 bus and streetcar routes will also increase reliability. Service adjustments on the following routes will further improve connections to secondary and post-secondary institutions, including:

38B Highland Creek and 938 Highland Creek Express
102A Markham Rd
830 Henry Kelsey-Middlefield
903A Kennedy Stn-Scarborough Express
906 Airport-Humber College Express
927A Highway 27 Express school trips between Kipling and Humber College will be restored on weekdays.
944 Kipling South Express service will be restored in all time periods on weekdays.

New routes improving access and connectivity in Etobicoke

Three new bus routes will be added to expand service in Etobicoke. The 145 Belfield will replace service previously provided by the 45B Kipling, operating between Kipling Station and Viscount Station on the Pearson Airport Terminal Link train. 345 Kipling Blue Night buses will provide service between Long Branch Loop and Steeles Ave. W. and Kipling Ave., while 373 Royal York buses will operate between Royal York Station and Steeles Ave. W. and Kipling Ave. Both the 345 Kipling and 373 Royal York Blue Night buses will operate during the overnight period on weekdays and weekends, and in the early morning period on Sundays, arriving every 30 minutes in all time periods.

Service changes on 512 St Clair

Streetcar service on 512/312 St Clair will end at Lansdowne Ave. to support railway underpass construction in preparation for the new St Clair-Old Weston transit station. 512B St Clair replacement buses will operate between Gunns Loop and Lansdowne Station. Overnight service east of Lansdowne Ave. will be maintained by extending the 340 Junction route to Oakwood Ave.

Bus service changes due to construction projects in the east end

As Easier Access construction continues at Warden Station, the current temporary bus terminal will close and be replaced by a new temporary turnaround loop. Buses will now service the station from nearby on-street stops on Warden Ave. and St Clair Ave. E.

In addition, service will be adjusted at Pape Station as Ontario Line construction continues, and part of the Pape Station bus terminal reopens. The following routes will be impacted:

8 Broadview and 62 Mortimer buses will no longer operate to Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital and will resume their regular routing to Broadview Station.
72 Pape southbound buses will resume servicing Pape Sation via the partially reopened bus terminal. Northbound buses will continue to stop outside the station at Lipton Ave.
100 Flemingdon Park buses will divert to Pape Station, via Pape Ave.

End of seasonal service

Also, effective Sept. 6, seasonal routes will be reduced or removed due to lower travel demands. The following seasonal routes will be adjusted:

92 Woodbine South, 200 Toronto Zoo, 201 Bluffer’s Park and 203 High Park
