Upcoming subway closures and service adjustments

This Sat., May 30 and Sun., May 31, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Jane and Ossington stations for track switch replacement. The planned closure will allow crews to replace a key track switch that provides access to Keele Yard, where trains are stored. Upgrading the switch will help ensure the safe, reliable movement of trains as they enter and exit service.

Shuttle buses will operate frequently, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance. Customers can speak with TTC staff at a station for assistance.

Runnymede, High Park, Lansdowne and Dufferin stations will be closed. The Indian Grove entrance at Keele Station will also be closed. All other subway stations will be open for customers to purchase or load a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket, and connect to surface routes.

Extra service for Bruno Mars concert at Rogers Stadium

The TTC is ramping up service this weekend for Bruno Mars fans heading to Rogers Stadium on Sat., May 30 and Sun., May 31.

To help concertgoers travel quickly and safely, additional service will be operating on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. Customers are encouraged to take Line 1 to Downsview Park, Sheppard West, or Wilson stations, with Downsview Park being the closest to the venue. All three stations are within walking distance, and additional TTC staff will be positioned at each location to assist concertgoers heading to the stadium.

For customers with accessibility needs, a dedicated shuttle service will operate between Wilson Station and Rogers Stadium before and after each concert.

Extra buses will be deployed on routes 84 Sheppard West and 96 Wilson, and the 101 Downsview Park route will be extended to Sheppard West Station from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m., diverting via Sheppard Ave. and Keele St.

The TTC and Live Nation Canada have partnered for a second year to offer concertgoers free rides home from Rogers Stadium. Fans can show their concert ticket to TTC staff at Downsview Park, Sheppard West and Wilson stations after the show to access their complimentary trip home on the TTC.

Service Adjustments

  • On Sat., May 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 505 Dundas streetcars will operate along College St. between Bathurst St. and Bay St., due to We Walk UHNITED.

Glencairn and Dupont stations will be closed, along with the Ranee Ave. entrance at Yorkdale Station, the Heath St. entrance at St Clair West Station, and the Kendal Ave. entrance at Spadina Station. All other subway stations will be open for customers to purchase or load a PRESTO card, PRESTO Tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.

Reduced speed zone – Bloor to Wellesley stations

Customers travelling on Line 1 Yonge-University may experience longer than normal travel times southbound between Bloor and Wellesley stations as a result of trains traveling at reduced speeds through the area. As a safety precaution, speeds are lowered where maintenance work is needed to ensure trains can continue to run safely during service. Maintenance work will be carried out after service hours, and the speed restriction is expected to be lifted by Mon., Jun. 1.

Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider the additional time they may need for their trips. Further information can be found on the TTC website at:https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service/Reduced-Speed-Zones.
