Take the TTC on Canada Day

The TTC is preparing to help customers travel across the city this Canada Day, as thousands are expected to take part in celebrations and view fireworks displays on Wed., Jul. Whether you’re travelling downtown or staying close to home to enjoy the festivities, the TTC is the fastest, most convenient and ecofriendly way to get around the city

Canada Day holiday service

On Wed., July 1, the TTC will be running on a holiday schedule for Canada Day. All TTC routes will operate a Sunday service schedule but will start earlier, at approximately 6 a.m. Any routes that do not normally operate on Sunday’s will not operate on Canada Day. Customers are encouraged to visit https://www.ttc.ca/routes-and-schedules/Service-details-and-holidays for more information.

The TTC’s Customer Service Centre will be closed for Canada Day on Wed., July 1. This closure includes Customer Service, Customer Information, the Lost Articles Office at Bay Station, the Photo ID Centre at Bathurst Station, and the @TTChelps account on X. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, July 2. For service updates, customers can follow @ttcnotices on X, subscribe to My TTC e-Services and check the Live Service Alerts on ttc.ca.

Fireworks displays

On Wed., Jul. 1, the TTC will be increasing subway service on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, and will add extra buses on the 22 Coxwell and 92 Woodbine South routes to accommodate those travelling to Ashbridges Bay Park for the Canada Day fireworks display.

The 22 Coxwell route will be extended south on Coxwell Ave. and east on Lake Shore Blvd. to connect with Woodbine Beach. Additional TTC personnel will be available on site to help customers navigate the area.

Extra service is also being added on the 509 Harbourfront streetcar route for those heading to the fireworks at Harbourfront Centre.

The TTC anticipates that many customers will be attending the festivities. Customers are reminded that some streets may be closed and TTC routes may be required to divert. For the latest service updates, customers are encouraged to visit the Service Advisories page on ttc.ca.

Service changes for Canada Day events

• 13 Avenue Road buses will operate as far south as St George Station from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., due to Canada Day celebrations at Queens Park. Between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., 94A Wellesley buses will also divert, with westbound buses running along Bloor St. W., and eastbound buses operating on College St. between Spadina Ave. and Bay St.

   

• 97A/B buses will divert onto Beecroft Rd. between Park Home Ave. and North York Blvd, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., due to a Canada Day event at Mel Lastman Square.

• The following routes will divert during the East York Canada Day parade:

   

  • 70 O’Connor buses will not service stops on Coxwell Ave., between O’Connor Dr., and Mortimer Ave., from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • 87 Cosburn buses will not service stops on Cosburn Ave., between Donlands Ave., and Woodbine Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • 91 Woodbine buses will not service stops on Woodbine Ave., between O’Connor Dr., and Mortimer Ave., from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • 93 Parkview Hills buses will not service stops on Woodbine Ave., between O’Connor Dr., and Mortimer Ave., from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
