TTC employees raise $806,000 for United Way Greater Toronto
Yesterday, TTC employees proudly presented a cheque for $806,027.62 to United Way Greater Toronto, marking another successful year of fundraising in support of communities across the region.
The presentation took place at the TTC’s Hillcrest Complex, where TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali, employees, and union representatives gathered to celebrate the achievement.
“TTC employees have once again stepped up for our city,” said Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow. “Across all City of Toronto agencies, we aimed to raise $2.3 million for United Way this year, and TTC employees have really answered the call. This money will give hope and change lives all over the Greater Toronto Area.”
“Every year, this campaign is growing, and that’s because TTC employees and pensioners continue to give so generously. I want to thank every employee who has donated, volunteered and participated in the 2025 campaign,” said TTC Chair Jamaal Myers.
“I’m incredibly proud of the way TTC employees rally behind this cause every year,” said TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali. “Their generosity reflects a deep commitment to the people and neighbourhoods we serve, and this year’s outstanding results show what we can do together.”
In 2025, thousands of employees and pensioners stepped forward to contribute to the United Way Greater Toronto through generous donations made through regular and one-off pay deductions. TTC employees also volunteered their time to hold fundraising events throughout the year, including a public Open House at Greenwood Complex.
This year’s donation will help United Way continue its vital work addressing poverty, strengthening neighbourhoods, and improving access to critical community services.
