Upcoming service adjustments for events and construction

There are no planned subway closures this weekend and the TTC is the most convenient and ecofriendly way to explore the city. 

Taste of the Danforth

Customers travelling to the Taste of the Danforth this Fri., Aug. 7 through Sun., Aug. 9, can take advantage of additional subway service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth and exit at Broadview, Chester or Pape stations for convenient access to the event. 

Several surface routes also provide direct access to the festival, including the 504 King and 505 Dundas streetcars as well as the 8 Broadview bus connecting to Broadview Station. Additional TTC staff will be at key subway stations to assist customers with directions and answer questions. 

Select bus routes will be on detour to accommodate the Taste of the Danforth including the 72 Pape, 325 Don Mills and 300 Bloor Danforth.

Bus and streetcar service adjustments 

Several bus and streetcar routes will divert throughout the weekend to accommodate events, construction and filming activities. The following routes will be affected:

Early nightly subway closures between Lawrence West and St George stations Mon., Aug. 10 through Thurs., Aug. 13

Mon., Aug. 10 to Thurs., Aug. 13, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Lawrence West and St George stations will end early each night for planned track work. On Mon. Aug. 10 and Thurs., Aug. 13, subway service will end at midnight, while on Tues., Aug. 11 and Wed., Aug. 12, subway service will end at 1 a.m. to accommodate customers travelling home from concerts at Rogers Stadium.

Shuttle buses will run frequently, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available; customers can speak with TTC staff for assistance.

Glencairn and Dupont stations will be closed, as well as the Heath St. entrance at St Clair West Station and the Kendal entrance at Spadina Station. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes. 

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
