TTC to stay up all night this weekend for Nuit Blanche
Nuit Blanche returns this weekend, and the TTC will operate all-night subway service to help customers travel around the city and view the exhibits with ease.
On Sun., Oct. 5, Line 1 Yonge-University, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth and Line 4 Sheppard will remain open past the usual 2 a.m. closing time, so attendees of Nuit Blanche can fully immerse themselves in the annual celebration of contemporary art. Subway service will run every 15 minutes from 1:30 a.m. until regular Sunday schedules resume at 8 a.m.
Several bus and streetcar routes will also run extended hours and with more capacity:
- Extra buses will be added to the 100 Flemingdon Park route for overnight service to the Agha Khan Museum art installations.
- 944 Kipling South Express will run overnight between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 5.
- The Blue Night Network will run as usual with extra service in and around Islington Station every 15 to 30 minutes.
As part of the service adjustments for Nuit Blanche, some routes will be diverted to accommodate road closures.
- From 12 p.m. on Sat. Oct. 4, to 9 a.m. Sun. Oct. 5, the 97/320 Yonge will divert onto Beecroft Rd. between Park Home Ave. and North York Blvd.
- From 5 p.m. on Sat. Oct. 4, to 1 p.m. Sun., Oct. 5, the 505/305 Dundas will divert between Church St. and Bathurst St.
