Upcoming subway closures and Victoria Day service adjustments
The TTC is advising customers of upcoming subway closures for planned track work, Victoria Day Holiday service, and adjustments for construction projects across the city.
Saturday and Sunday – Subway closure between Woodbine and Broadview stations
Sat., May 17 and Sun., May 18, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Woodbine and Broadview stations for planned track work. The TTC will adjust Sunday's closure schedule if game seven of the second round Stanley Cup playoffs is held at Scotiabank Arena, ensuring fans have a seamless subway service to and from the game.
Chester Station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the shuttle route. Extra Wheel-Trans buses will operate between Woodbine and Broadview stations for any customer requiring assistance. Regular subway service will resume Monday morning at 6 a.m.
Victoria Day
On Mon., May 19 the TTC will be increasing subway service on Line 2, as well as bus and streetcar service on the 22 Coxwell, 92 Woodbine South and 501 Queen to accommodate those travelling to Ashbridges Bay Park for the Victoria Day fireworks display. The 22 Coxwell will be extended south on Coxwell Avenue and east on Lake Shore Blvd. to connect with Woodbine Beach. Additional TTC personnel will be available to help direct customers to the appropriate boarding locations.
The TTC anticipates that many customers will be attending the festivities. Customers are reminded that some streets may be closed and TTC routes may be required to divert.
The TTC will also be running a holiday service this Victoria Day. All TTC routes will operate on their Sunday service schedules but will start earlier, at approximately 6 a.m. Any routes that do not normally operate on Sundays, will not operate on Victoria Day. Customers are encouraged to visit https://www.ttc.ca/routes-and-schedules/Service-details-and-holidays for more information.
Tuesday to Friday – Early nightly subway closure between Sheppard-Yonge and College stations
Tues., May 20 through Fri., May 23, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Sheppard-Yonge and College stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate planned track work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Lawrence and Summerhill stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
