TTC announces extra service for St. Patrick’s Day Parade, upcoming service adjustments
The TTC is enhancing its subway and streetcar services this Sun., Mar. 16 in anticipation of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Race. With no planned subway closures this weekend, the TTC is the fastest, most convenient, and eco-friendly way to get to and from the St Patrick’s Day festivities safely.
Extra train service will be added on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, along with additional streetcars on the 505 Dundas and 506 Carlton routes.
Road closures will be in effect between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for the Parade and Race. The closures will impact service on the 13 Avenue Road, 19 Bay, 94 Wellesley, and 97 Yonge routes. For detailed information about TTC route adjustments this weekend, customers are encouraged to visit: https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/Service-Changes.
Monday – Friday early nightly subway closures between St Clair and Finch stations
From Mon., Mar. 17, through Fri., Mar. 21, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St Clair and Finch stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate planned track work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Lawrence and North York Centre stations will be closed during this time. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
