Upcoming TTC subway closures and weekend service updates


This Sat., June 10, and Sun., June 11, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 between Broadview and Woodbine stations due to track work.

 

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

 

Chester Station will be closed.  All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card or purchase PRESTO Tickets and connect to surface routes.

 

At Pape Station, the automatic entrance/exit at Lipton Ave. will be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at the station. 

 

Sunday


This Sun., June 11 only, subway service on the portion of Line 2 between St George and Broadview stations will begin by noon to accommodate beam replacement on the Prince Edward (Bloor) Viaduct.

 

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

 

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. All other stations will remain open for people to load their PRESTO card, purchase PRESTO Tickets or connect to surface routes.

 

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak to any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

 

Weekend events and service impacts

 

Several events taking place this weekend will result in adjustments to TTC service.

 

The 505 Dundas will divert between Ossington and Lansdowne avenues from 10 a.m. Fri., June 9, until 1 a.m. Mon., June 12, to accommodate Do West Fest. Customers may also experience delays on the 29 Dufferin, 47 Lansdowne, and 63 Ossington during this event.

 

From 2 a.m. on Sat., June 10, until 4 a.m., Mon., June 12, the 985 Sheppard East Express will terminate at Scarborough Centre Station due to road reconstruction.

 

On Sat., June 10, the 29 Dufferin, 80 Queensway (eastbound), and 501 Queen will divert from 6:30 – 10:30 a.m. to accommodate the Ride to Conquer Cancer. Customers using the 15 Evans, 44 Kipling South, 49 Bloor West, 66 Prince Edward, 76 Royal York South, 77 Swansea, 80 Queensway (westbound), 110 Islington South, 111 East Mall and 112 West Mall may experience delays and service interruptions due to this event.

 

Also on Sat., June 10, the 13 Avenue Road, 19 Bay, and 94 Wellesley will divert between 7 – 11 a.m. to accommodate the Run for Women.

 

The 47 Lansdowne will divert from 8 – 11 a.m., and the 63 Ossington and 505 Dundas from 11:15 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the Portugal Day Parade. Customers using the 29 Dufferin may also experience delays during this time.

 

The 29 Dufferin will also divert between 5 – 10:30 p.m. on Saturday for road closures due to the Toronto FC game at BMO Field.

 

The 501L Queen bus will be diverting from 5 a.m. on Sat., June 10 until 1 a.m. on Sunday June 11, to accommodate the Lakeshore Village Grilled Cheese Challenge.

 

On Sun., June 11, between 9:30 – 11 a.m., the 501B Queen will divert due to road closures for the Toronto Challenge. Customers using the 13 Avenue Road, 19 Bay, 94 Wellesley, 505 Dundas, and 506 Carlton may experience delays during this time.

 

Customers are advised to check event listings before they travel. The TTC will adjust diversionary routes should events be postponed or cancelled due to air quality.

 

Monday to Thursday

 

Mon., June 12, through Thurs., June 15, subway service on the portion of Line 2 between Broadview and Woodbine stations will end at 11 p.m. nightly for track work.

 

Replacement shuttle buses will run frequently, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

 

Chester Station will be closed.  All other stations will remain open for customers to load their PRESTO card or purchase PRESTO Tickets and connect to surface routes. At Pape Station, the automatic entrance/exit at Lipton Ave. will be closed. Other entrances and exits will be available for customers at the station. 

 

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work as well as ATC signal upgrades.
