At a ceremony held today, the TTC was honoured as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers. TTC’s Head of Diversity and Human Rights, Valerie Albanese, Diversity and Outreach Specialist, Marika Fraser and Diversity Consultant, Thamina Jaferi, proudly accepted the award from the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
The award recognizes TTC’s achievements in promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion in all corporate policies, programs and services. The TTC is proud to foster an empowered, customer-focused workforce and actively develop its 15,000 diverse and talented employees.
“The TTC is honoured to receive this recognition and is committed to diversity and inclusion in our workforce as set out in our Corporate Plan and Respect and Dignity Policy,” said TTC’s Chief People Officer Gemma Piemontese. “As an integral part of Toronto’s fabric and with front line employees who work directly with the public every day, it’s important that we reflect the communities we serve.”
Canada’s Best Diversity Employers competition recognizes leaders that create inclusive workplaces for employees, by cultivating diversity of thought and creating an environment in which individuals have an equal opportunity to contribute, advance and voice their opinions and perspectives.
