Portion of TTC Line 1 to close early Mon-Thurs next week

Next week, TTC's Line 1 will close between St Clair West and Union stations at 11 p.m. nightly from Mon., Mar. 18 through Thurs., Mar. 21. The early closures will enable the TTC to continue to expedite the modernization of its ATC signalling system.

Shuttle buses will run and Wheel-Trans will provide service to customers requiring accessible connections.

Dupont and Museum stations will close at 11 p.m. but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

This weekend

The TTC is also reminding customers that this weekend, Mar. 16-17, the portion of Line 1 between St George and King stations will be closed to continue installation of the signalling system.

Shuttle buses will run, stopping outside each station along the route. Museum Station will be closed throughout the weekend but all others will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station throughout the weekend. As King Station is not yet accessible, customers requiring an accessible connection should use Queen Station instead.

Finally, the TTC is also reminding customers about free service on the 501 Queen and 504 King streetcars from 4 p.m. on Sun., Mar. 17th to 2:30 a.m. on Mon., Mar. 18th to provide Torontonians with safe rides along those routes during St. Patrick's Day festivities.

Fare boxes and PRESTO readers on streetcars will be covered. Customers connecting to the subway or another route from the 501 or 504 must pay their fare when entering or boarding at their transfer point.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service and about alternative routes. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on Twitter or sign up for eAlerts.
