Upcoming TTC closures and diversions
As the TTC and the City of Toronto complete important infrastructure work throughout the summer, customers are advised to check ttc.ca for information about closures and diversions. As well, to accommodate the many events that occur in a vibrant and exciting city like Toronto, some surface routes will divert for short periods of time. Customers can receive up-to-the-minute advisories by subscribing to eAlerts or following @TTCnotices on Twitter.
This weekend alone, in addition to Sunday’s big Pride Parade, routes will need to divert for the Trans and Dyke marches, the Pride and Remembrance Run, the Fairbanks Summerfest, the Junction Summer Solstice Festival, and the TD Toronto Jazz Festival.
Pride 2019
The TTC is excited to once again participate in Sunday's annual Pride parade with a specially wrapped bus.
Four routes will be on diversion to accommodate the parade festivities:
5 Avenue Rd
94 Wellesley
505 Dundas
506 Carlton
Please note that buses will not enter Wellesley Station during the diversion.
Pride Toronto and the TTC have designated specific Wheel-Trans pick-up and drop-off locations for this year’s festival weekend:
Pride 1 Stop: 83 Gloucester St.
Pride 2 Stop: 90 Charles St. E.
Pride 3 Stop: 15 Breadalbane St.
Pride 4 Stop: 75 St Nicholas St.
Pride 5 Stop: 14 Carlton St.
Pride 6 Stop: 19 Horticultural Ave.
Pride 7 Stop: 100 Gloucester St.
Line 3 Scarborough
Also this weekend, the TTC is reminding customers that there will be no service on Line 3 Scarborough from 11 p.m. Sat., Jun. 22, until 6 a.m. on Mon., Jun. 24 so that TTC crews can carry out essential track maintenance. Periodic Line 3 closures are required as the TTC undertakes a complete life-extension rehabilitation of the tracks and vehicles to provide a more reliable and comfortable service.
Shuttle buses will run along Midland Ave. stopping at Kennedy, Lawrence East, Ellesmere, Midland and Scarborough Centre stations.
Midland and McCowan stations will be closed, but all others will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes. All local surface connections will continue to run as scheduled.
Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station during the closures. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member to request Wheel-Trans service and for information about service frequency.
Regular service on Line 3 will resume on Mon., Jun. 24 at 6 a.m.
Early nightly closures
Next Mon. through Thurs., Jun. 24-27, the portion of Line 1 between Eglinton and Bloor-Yonge stations will close at 11 p.m. as TTC crews continue installation of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) signalling system.
Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. Summerhill Station will be closed, but all others will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes. Shuttle loading and offloading locations will vary from station to station. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers and answer questions.

Portions of the TTC’s signal system date back to the 1950s when the subway first opened. When ATC is fully installed on Line 1, it will allow improved capacity on the line. ATC is currently installed on 50% of Line 1, the portion between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and St Patrick stations. Customers travelling in the ATC area are already experiencing the increased reliability that comes with the modern signal system.
