Downtown subway and streetcar service closed for the evening

As G20 protests continue, Toronto Transit Commission service restrictions put into place earlier today in the downtown core, will continue until the end of service this evening.

As such, there will be no subway service for the rest of the evening on the Yonge-University line from Bloor Station to St. George Station, and no streetcar or bus service in the downtown core.

The Bloor-Danforth subway line is unaffected at this time.

The free shuttle bus service established on Bathurst St. from Front St. to Bathurst Station, and on Parliament St. from Front St. to Castle Frank Station will continue until the Blue Night Network begins service.

The Blue Night Network, which operates after normal subway service has stopped for the evening, will be running with modifications. The 320 Yonge night bus will divert via Parliament Street.

The Queen (route 301) will operate as it is with the current service diversions and not enter the downtown core, except shuttle buses will also operate between Roncesvalles Ave. and Bathurst St. Streetcar service from Roncesvalles to Long Branch will continue.

The Carlton (route 306) will divert as it is currently, except a shuttle bus will also operate between Dundas West Station along College St., then north on Bathurst St. to Bathurst Station.

All other Blue Night services will operate normally, including the 300 Bloor-Danforth. The special Parliament shuttle bus will be replaced by the 320 Yonge bus. The special Bathurst shuttle becomes the regular 311 night bus.

The subway begins normal Sunday operations at 9 a.m. A decision about TTC service for Sunday will be made tomorrow morning.
