
King Street East and Church Street
NEW: Beginning Monday, August 18, 2025, 504C and 504/304D King replacement buses will resume service through the King Street East and Church Street intersection, as construction nears completion and the intersection reopens to vehicles.
Streetcar service is expected to resume in early September, once TTC crews complete testing the newly installed tracks.
Work details
The City of Toronto and the TTC have completed the following infrastructure upgrades at the King Street East and Church Street intersection:
- Watermain replacement
- Streetcar track renewal
Streetcar track testing
- Starting August 18, 2025, TTC crews will begin testing the newly installed streetcar tracks to ensure safe and reliable service once streetcar resumes in early September.
Work hours and noise
- TTC crews will work days and/or nights during track testing work.
- Noise and lights from construction vehicles/machinery should be expected.
Changes to TTC service in the area
503/303 Kingston Rd and 504/304 King streetcars will continue to divert around the King Street East and Church Street intersection to accommodate track testing work.
304D, 504C and 504D King replacement buses will continue to provide service on most sections of King Street where streetcars are not running. Note: Effective Monday, August 18, 2025, replacement buses will resume service through the King Street East and Church Street intersection.
