Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth)–St George to Chester stations – Late opening at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026
Effective August 23, 2026
Subway service on Line 2 between St George and Chester stations will be replaced by shuttle buses until 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 23 due to planned infrastructure maintenance.
TTC staff will be available to assist customers. Wheel-Trans service will be available upon request for any customer requiring assistance.
Here are alternative surface routes for customers to connect to Line 1 from Chester Station:
Head west to Broadview Station and take the 504B King replacement bus to connect to King Station.
Head west to Broadview Station and take the 505 Dundas streetcar to connect to TMU Station.
Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed. Yonge Street entrance to Line 2 at Bloor-Yonge Station will be closed. All other TTC stations will remain open for customers to purchase or load a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket and to connect to surface routes.
Regular subway service will resume between St George and Chester stations at approximately 11 a.m.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the end of service each night, it continues to require early nightly and weekend closures to complete state-of-good-repair work.
