TTC ready to deliver reliable service no matter the weather
The TTC is monitoring weather conditions and is ready to safely get customers where they need to go this afternoon in the event of heavy rain.
As always, the TTC’s Transit Control Centre is watching the weather, coordinating closely with partners at the City, Toronto Hydro, and Metrolinx, and remains prepared to adjust service as needed based on road conditions.
In the event of heavy rain or strong winds, the TTC will:
- Ask Operators to reduce their speed on the roads and in the open cut areas of the subway system
- Monitor subway tracks in the open cut areas and streetcar tracks across the network for flooding
- Deploy TTC employees to key locations to monitor and adjust service
- Divert bus and streetcar routes that travel in low lying areas in the event of flooding
- Ensure station entrances, concourses and outdoor platforms are free of water, helping to prevent people from slipping
- Update Wheel-Trans customers via the Self-Booking Website and phone lines about changes to service.
TTC employees will be available to assist customers throughout their journey.
CNE service
Increased service to the CNE will continue as planned on the 29 Dufferin, 929 Dufferin Express, 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst routes, as well as on the CNE express shuttle buses from Dufferin Station.
Nightly early closure on Line 2: St George to Broadview stations
Subway service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between St George and Broadview stations will end at 11:59 p.m., due to planned track work. Shuttle buses will be operating.
Customers are advised to follow @TTCNotices on X or check the Live Service Alerts on ttc.ca for up-to-date service information, and to allow extra travel time in the event of bad weather.
