Upcoming nightly subway service adjustments

From Tues., Oct 13, to Fri., Oct. 16, subway service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Jane stations will end at midnight each night for ongoing communication and signal cable installation between Islington and Old Mill stations, maintenance on the tracks near Islington Station and of the track switches near Kipling Station. Crews will also take advantage of the subway closure to perform track, infrastructure and track switch inspections to identify and address wear before it can impact service. Together, this work will improve the reliability of critical systems and infrastructure, support smoother train operations and help reduce the likelihood of future service disruptions for customers.

Shuttle buses will operate frequently, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance. Customers can speak with TTC staff for assistance.

The Grenview entrance at Royal York Station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO Tickets, and connect to surface routes.

Tuesday to Thursday – Single track operation between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Finch West stations

From Tues., Oct. 13, until Thurs., Oct. 15, there will be limited subway service each night starting at 11 p.m. on Line 1 Yonge-University between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Finch West stations while crews install mounting hardware and radio communication cables to support more reliable communications infrastructure in this area of the system. Subway service will continue to operate during the work; however, customers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as trains will share a single track through the area.

Customers travelling southbound from Finch West Station will board their train on the northbound platform. Customers will be required to transfer trains at Finch West Station and use the southbound platform to continue their northbound journey. TTC staff will be on site to assist customers during their trip.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts. Customers can also use Transit app to plan their journey in real-time.
