Get ready for goosebumps: TTC’s Halloween Fest returning this year at new spooky location

On October 24 and 25, the TTC will once again host a spooktacular weekend of fright and fun – this time, at the TTC’s 100-year-old Danforth Garage facility. Those who dare can brave the haunted bus bay, trick-or-treat and enjoy fang-tastic kids’ activities – all to raise money for United Way Greater Toronto.

Halloween Fest is a family-friendly event that will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sat., Oct., 24 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 25. Admission is $7, and kids two and under can enter free.

“TTC's Halloween Fest is an important part of our United Way campaign, providing an opportunity to further support and engage with our communities, said TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali. "I encourage everyone to come see how our staff and pensioners transform our Danforth Garage into a one-of-a-kind Halloween destination that is both terrific and terrifying. Join us for a frightfully fun weekend of monsters, ghouls, fun characters, and trick-or-treating while raising money for an important cause."

This year’s festivities will include a Halloween carnival with a BBQ, a bounce house, a maze and other thrilling activities. A kid-friendly bus bay, as well as a creepy haunted bus bay, will both be open to visitors. While the scares will be tailored to the audience, parental discretion is advised.

Costumes are welcomed but optional and there will be TTC-themed merchandise available to purchase. The event is totally cash-free, including admission, food and merchandise.

Attendees can also see Danforth Garage in a whole new way. Originally called Danforth Carhouse, the Edwardian-style facility began servicing streetcars for Toronto Civic Railways in 1915 until 1921, when the TTC took over operations and introduced the new Peter Witt streetcars. After the Bloor-Danforth subway opened in 1966, the facility was converted to an all-bus garage, and it served in that capacity until 2002. Today, Danforth Garage is home to TTC heritage barns and serves as an office for subway operations.

This event is fully accessible.

Danforth Garage is located at 1627 Danforth Ave., near Coxwell Station.

This event was made possible through sponsorship by ATU Local 113, as well as the 1022 King St. W. and 42 Hanna Ave. No Frills.
