TTC seeks volunteers for Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit
The TTC and its Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit (ACAT) are seeking new volunteer members to join the committee for the 2027 term.
“The members who make up the TTC’s Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit play a vital role in making sure that we are providing an accessible and safe transit system for all of our residents,” said Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow. “Their dedication, insights, and recommendations are invaluable in shaping the future of accessible transit in Toronto.”
“As ridership continues to increase on both the TTC’s conventional and Wheel-Trans networks, it is imperative that we have an Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit that represents all the communities we serve,” said TTC Chair Jamaal Myers. “We strongly encourage applications from people from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous, Black, and other racialized communities. Their unique perspectives and experiences can help shape the future of accessible transit in Toronto.”
“ACAT serves as a platform for public engagement and input on matters related to accessible transit, with volunteer members playing a crucial role in shaping the future of TTC’s accessibility initiatives,” said TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali. “The committee ensures that the voices of diverse communities are heard and included in decision-making and has proven to be successful in guiding the organization, working collaboratively, ensuring an equitable transit system for all. We encourage applications from individuals who are passionate about transit and committed to fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible public transit system in Toronto.”
