TTC service adjustments for Pride weekend and major city events

Customers attending this weekend’s Pride Toronto festivities, and other events across the city are encouraged to take the TTC - the easiest and most convenient way to travel.

The TTC is ramping up subway service on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth starting today, Fri., June 26, through Sun., June 28, making it easier for customers to get around.

Getting to Pride events

Bloor-Yonge Station is closest to the starting points for the Trans March, Dyke March, and Pride Parade, and accessible to customers on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth.

Most festival areas are located along Line 1, near Wellesley, College, and TMU stations. Customers who require elevator access should exit the train at Bloor-Yonge, Wellesley, or TMU

stations.

The TTC is advising customers to plan ahead and to be aware of the following service adjustments.

Bus service adjustments

Starting at 9 a.m. today, Fri., June 26, until 7 a.m. on Mon., June 29, the 94 Wellesley route will operate both ways along College St. from Bay St., and on Carlton St. to Jarvis St. Customers can expect further adjustments starting Friday evening to accommodate the various Pride events. 

During the Trans March, Dyke March, and Pride Parade, the 94 Wellesley will operate separate routes on the west and east sides of Yonge St. The 94A Wellesley will run from Ossington Station as far east as Queens Park Crescent E., while the 94B Wellesley will run from Castle Frank Station to Jarvis St. The adjusted routes will be in effect at the following times: 

• Fri., June 26, 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., (Trans March)
• Sat., June 27, 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., (Dyke March)
• Sun., June 28, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., (Pride Parade)

On Sat., June 27, 13 Avenue Road and 19 Bay will divert from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for the Pride Remembrance Run taking place on Wellesley St. and Queen’s Park Circle.

During the Pride Parade on Sun., June 28, the 19 Bay and 97C Yonge routes will divert from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Streetcar service adjustments

During today’s Trans March (8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) and Saturday’s Dyke March (2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), 506 Carlton streetcars will run along Dundas St., between Bay and Parliament streets. Replacement buses will operate between Jarvis St. and Broadview Ave. via Carlton and Gerrard streets.

On Pride Parade day, Sun., June 28, the following routes will be impacted:

• From 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., the 505 Dundas streetcars will run on a split route. West of Yonge St., streetcars will run from Dundas West Station to Dundas and McCaul St. East of Yonge St., streetcars will run from Broadview Station to Dundas St. and Church St.
• Between 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., 506 Carlton streetcars will also run a split route. West of Yonge St., streetcars will run between High Park Loop and Spadina Station, via Spadina Ave. East of Yonge St., streetcars will turn back at Parliament St. Replacement buses will operate on College St. between Bathurst St. and Bay St. and between Broadview Ave. and Jarvis St. using Gerrard, Parliament and Carlton streets.

Customers are reminded that some streets may be closed at short notice requiring unplanned diversions.

Enhanced service for FIFA events

To support travel to and from Toronto Stadium and FIFA Fan Festival™ the following routes will have enhanced service:

• 504 King, 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst streetcar service has been increased to operate every five minutes, to accommodate more customers travelling on these routes.
• 29 Dufferin/929 Dufferin Express buses are operating in dedicated transit lanes from Dufferin Station to Dufferin Gate Loop.
• 829 Dufferin Gate Express buses will provide non-stop service between Dufferin Station to Dufferin Gate Loop today, Fri., June 26.

Free ride home for Noah Kahan concert at Rogers Stadium

On Sun., June 28, fans leaving the Noah Kahan concert at Rogers Stadium can travel for free on Line 1 from Downsview Park, Sheppard West, or Wilson stations when they show their concert ticket to a TTC employee.

For customers with accessibility needs, a dedicated shuttle service will operate between Wilson Station and Rogers Stadium before and after each concert.

Extra buses will be deployed on the 84 Sheppard West and 96 Wilson, and the 101 Downsview Park route will be extended to Sheppard West Station from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m., diverting via Sheppard Ave. and Keele St.
