Upcoming subway closures and service adjustments
The TTC is advising of two scheduled subway closures this weekend and service adjustments on bus and streetcar routes due to construction.
Line 1 – Closure between St George and St Andrew stations
Starting Fri., Jan. 30 at 11 p.m., until 6 a.m. on Mon., Feb. 2, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St George and St Andrew stations for planned station work.
Shuttle buses will not be operating for this closure. Instead, customers are encouraged to use the Yonge side of Line 1 and connect to east and west bus and streetcar routes to travel within the downtown core. Wheel-Trans buses will be available for any customers requiring assistance.
Museum, Queen’s Park, St Patrick and Osgoode stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.
Line 4 – Closure between Sheppard-Yonge and Don Mills stations
This Sat., Jan. 31 and Sun., Feb. 1, there will be no subway service on Line 4 Sheppard between Sheppard-Yonge and Don Mills stations for planned signal work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customers requiring assistance.
Bayview and Bessarion stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.
Monday to Thursday – Early nightly closures between Finch and Eglinton stations
Mon., Feb. 2, through Thurs., Feb. 5, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Finch and Eglinton stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for planned tunnel work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customers requiring assistance.
All subway stations will be open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes. Certain station entrances will be closed, including the Hullmark Centre and Poyntz Ave. entrances at Sheppard-Yonge Station, Old York Mills Rd. entrance at York Mills Station, and the Bedford Park Ave. and Ranleigh Ave. entrances at Lawrence Station.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
