TTC service changes coming March 2 to accommodate College Street and Bay Street construction

Starting Mon., Mar. 2, the TTC will be adjusting service to accommodate the renewal of aging streetcar tracks and overhead upgrades at the College St. and Bay St. intersection.

This work will impact the 506/306 Carlton streetcar and the 19 Bay bus as follows:

  • 506 and 306 Carlton streetcars will divert both ways onto Dundas St. between McCaul St. and Parliament St.
  • A 506B and 306B Carlton replacement bus will be introduced, operating between Spadina Station and Broadview Ave. and Gerrard St. E.
    • Eastbound buses will operate via Spadina Ave., College St., University Ave., Gerrard St. W., Yonge St., Carlton St., Parliament St. and Gerrard St. E.
    • Westbound buses will operate via Gerrard St. E., Parliament St., Carlton St., Yonge St., Wellesley St. W., Queen's Park Cres. W., College St. and Spadina Ave.
  • 19 Bay northbound buses will divert onto Yonge St., between Gerrard St. E and Wellesley St. E.
  • 19 Bay southbound buses will divert onto Queen’s Park Cres. W. and University Ave., between Wellesley St. E. and Gerrard St. E.

Wheel-Trans service will remain accessible in all areas where local traffic is permitted.

These service changes will be in effect starting Mon. Mar. 2, but won’t appear in most TTC and third-party trip-planning applications until March 15.

The diversions are expected to continue until May 2026. Full details of the service adjustments are available at https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories.

Additional diversions will be required when work resumes for Phases 2 and 3 after the FIFA World Cup 2026™. TTC will communicate these changes at a later date.
