Streetcars to return to Spadina Avenue as of Sat., Feb. 28
510 Spadina streetcars will return to Spadina Ave. as of 5 a.m. tomorrow, Sat. Feb. 28. TTC crews are currently working to complete final testing today and overnight and confirm that the infrastructure is safe for streetcar operations.
On Mon., Feb. 23, the damage was identified with reports of a cable chamber fire, and repair work began overnight and continued around the clock. Six hundred and forty metres of damaged underground electrical cables were replaced from Adelaide to Queen St. through multiple cable chambers along the Spadina corridor.
Replacement 510 Spadina buses are operating between Spadina Station and Queen’s Quay to maintain service for customers, and additional staff are on hand at Spadina and Union stations, as well as the Queen’s Quay transfer point, to assist with wayfinding and transfers. Customers should continue to board shuttle buses at the curb until streetcar service resumes.
The TTC thanks customers for their patience during this period.
The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
