TTC Good Friday service and upcoming subway closures

This Fri., Apr. 3, the TTC will be running holiday service for Good Friday. All TTC routes will operate on a Sunday service schedule but will start earlier, at approximately 6 a.m. Routes that do not normally operate on Sundays will not operate on Good Friday.

Easter events

Easter events being held in the city will impact some TTC routes this long weekend. On Friday, from 2:15 p.m. to 6 p.m., 506 Carlton streetcars will run along Dundas St. between Ossington Ave. and Bathurst St. for the St Francis of Assisi Church Good Friday Procession. Customers may experience delays on the 505 Dundas during the event.

On Easter Sunday, the 64 Main, 92 Woodbine South and 501 Queen will be diverting between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to accommodate the annual Toronto Beaches Easter Parade.

Weekend subway closure – St George to St Andrew stations

Starting at midnight on Fri., Apr. 3, until 6 a.m. Mon., Apr. 6, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between St George and St Andrew stations for planned station work.

Shuttle buses will not be operating. To access the downtown core, customers are encouraged to travel along the Yonge side of Line 1 and connect to east and west bus and streetcar routes. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance. Customers can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Museum, Queen’s Park, St Patrick and Osgoode stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.

Monday to Friday – Early nightly closures between Lawrence West and St George stations

Mon., Apr. 6, through Fri., Apr. 10, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Lawrence West and St George stations will end nightly at midnight for planned station work.

Shuttle buses will run. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance. Customers can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Glencairn and Dupont stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
