Upcoming subway closures and service adjustments
The TTC is advising of planned subway closures and service adjustments on select bus and streetcar routes due to events and construction projects.
Line 1 – Full weekend closure between Finch and Eglinton stations
This Sat., Sept. 27 and Sun., Sept. 28, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Finch and Eglinton stations to accommodate planned track work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.
The main entrances at York Mills, Sheppard-Yonge and Lawrence stations will remain open, however the automated entrances will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open during the closure for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.
Line 2 – Full weekend closure between Kennedy and Warden stations
This Sat., Sept. 27 and Sun., Sept. 28, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kennedy and Warden stations to accommodate work on the Scarborough subway extension.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans buses will be available at Victoria Park and Kennedy stations for any customer requiring assistance. Warden Station is not accessible.
All subway stations will remain open during the closure for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.
Monday to Friday – Early nightly closures between Ossington and St George stations
Mon., Sept. 29, through Fri., Oct. 3, subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Ossington and St George stations will end nightly at 11:59 p.m. for track work.
A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.
Christie station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.
Monday to Thursday – Limited nightly service between Finch West and Sheppard West Stations
Beginning at 11 p.m., nightly, from Mon., Sept. 29 to Thurs., Oct. 2, there will be limited subway service on the portion of Line 1 between Finch West and Sheppard West stations due to structural maintenance.
Trains operating between Finch West and Sheppard West stations will operate on a single track in both directions. Customers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes if travelling through this area. Customers will need to change trains at Finch West and Sheppard West stations to continue their journey northbound or southbound. Regular service will resume the following morning at 6 a.m.
While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
Events
- From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 26, the 121 Esplanade-River, 202 Cherry Beach and 504 King will divert during the Brita Night Run taking place on Bayview Ave. from Mill St. to Rosedale Valley.
- On Sat. Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 97C Yonge buses will run along Church St. between Davenport Rd. and Adelaide St. E. during the Latin Parade and Fall Fiesta at Sankofa Square.
- Between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 28, 127 Davenport buses will divert onto Davenport Rd., Bathurst St., Dupont St. and Spadina Rd. during the Toronto Garlic Festival.
- From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 28, 72 Pape buses will run along Broadview Ave. between O’Connor Dr. and Mortimer Ave. during the Heroes of Suicide Memorial March.
Construction
- Until 7 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 30, the 26 Dupont buses are diverting during roadwork along Bedford Rd. Eastbound buses are running along Bedford Rd., Lowther Ave., St George St., Prince Arthur Ave. to St George Station. Westbound buses are running from St George Station to Bedford Rd., Bloor St. W., St George St. and Dupont St.
- From 11 p.m. until 4 a.m., tonight, Thurs., Sept. 25, and tomorrow, Fri., Sept. 26, 501/301 Queen streetcars will run along King St. W. between Shaw St. and Roncesvalles Ave. during TTC infrastructure work at Queen St. W. and Fennings St. Replacement buses will operate on Queen St. W. between Bathurst St. and Sunnyside Ave.
- Starting at 5 a.m. on Sun., Sept. 28, until mid-Nov., the 504A/304 King, 508 Lakeshore, 29/329 Dufferin and 929 Dufferin Express routes will divert during planned track work at King St. W. and Dufferin St.
- Starting at 11 p.m. on Mon., Sept. 29, to 4 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 30, 512/312 St Clair streetcars will be replaced by buses between St. Clair Station and St. Clair Ave. W. and Dufferin St. during TTC overhead inspection and City of Toronto work along St. Clair Ave. During construction, the 33 Forest Hill, 90 Vaughan Road and 126 Christie buses will not enter St Clair West Station.
- From 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 30 and Wed., Oct. 1, 512/312 St Clair streetcars will redirect to Bathurst Station via Vaughan Rd. and Bathurst St. during TTC overhead inspection and City of Toronto work along St. Clair Ave. Replacement buses will run between St Clair Station and Oakwood Loop. During construction, the 33 Forest Hill, 90 Vaughan Road and 126 Christie buses will not enter St Clair West Station.
