Upcoming planned subway closures and service adjustments


The TTC is advising customers of planned subway closures, as well as service adjustments for planned construction and events taking place throughout the city.

 

Friday - Early nightly closure between Finch and Sheppard-Yonge stations

 

This Fri., Nov. 14, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Finch and Sheppard-Yonge stations will end at 12 a.m. for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.

North York Centre station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

Saturday and Sunday – Weekend closure between Kipling and Jane stations


This Sat., Nov. 15 and Sun., Nov. 16, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Jane stations for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers with accessibility needs can also take the 149 Etobicoke-Bloor Accessibility Shuttle buses which operates between Kipling and High Park stations. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.

Grenview Boulevard Entrance at Royal York Station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.

Events

From 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 16, the 12 Kingston Road, 117 Birchmount South and 503 Kingston Road routes will divert during the Beaches Santa Claus Parade.

 

Construction

 

  • Until 5 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 15, 20 Cliffside westbound buses will reroute along Eglinton Ave. E., Glider Dr. and Midland Ave. during road reconstruction at Eglinton Ave. E. and Midland Ave.

     

  • Through Mon., Nov. 24, 55 Warren Park southbound buses are running along South Gooch Ave., Magwood Ct. and Varsity Rd. during construction along Warren Cres.

     

  • Until 5 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 23, the 31 Greenwood buses are diverting during watermain replacement at Eastern Ave. and Woodward Ave. Northbound buses are running along Eastern Ave., Woodward Ave., Queen St. E. and Greenwood Ave., while southbound buses are running via Greenwood Ave., Queen St. E., Leslie St., Eastern Ave., Laing St. and Queen St. W.

     

  • From 8 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 14, until 6 a.m. on Mon., Nov. 17, the 102D Markham Road buses will redirect onto Fincham Ave. and Paramount Rd., between 16th Ave. and Parkway Ave. during Metrolinx rail repairs.

 

Monday to Friday – Early nightly closures between Kipling and Islington stations

Mon., Nov. 17, through Fri., Nov. 21, subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Islington stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers with accessibility needs can also take the 149 Etobicoke-Bloor Accessibility Shuttle buses which operates between Kipling and High Park stations.

Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance at Royal York Station. Islington Station is not accessible. Customers can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

All subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
