TTC service to pause for two minutes of silence on Remembrance Day
On Remembrance Day, Tue., Nov. 11, 2025, at 11 a.m., the TTC will pause all service to observe two minutes in honour and memory of Canada’s fallen.
• All subway trains will be held at station platforms.
• Bus and streetcar operators will stop their vehicles at a regular service stop before 11 a.m. and remain there to observe two minutes of silence.
• Wheel-Trans operators will hold their buses at a safe location.
On Remembrance Day, all current members of the Canadian Armed Forces in uniform, as well as war and peacekeeping veterans wearing military service medals or ribbons, can ride the TTC free of charge. They are also welcome to bring a companion to share in this moment of remembrance and gratitude.
On November 11, the TTC remembers and honours the more than 600 TTC workers who served in the Second World War, whose names are marked on our Honour Rolls, and their stories are shared across the subway system.
Remembrance Day is a time for all Torontonians to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served our country. The TTC encourages customers and employees to wear a Poppy and contribute to the Toronto Royal Canadian Legion. The TTC Honour Guard will once again represent our workforce at the Cenotaph at Old City Hall.
TTC buses and streetcars will carry a sign on Remembrance Day reading “Lest We Forget” and a special message will run on all platform video screens throughout the subway system. All service and public address announcements will resume immediately following the moment of silence.
