Subway closures for planned track work starting tonight


Tonight only, Fri., Nov. 28, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Osgoode and College stations will end at 12 a.m. for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.


St Andrew, King and Queen stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

 

Saturday and Sunday – Weekend track work between Kipling and Jane stations

This Sat., Nov. 29 and Sun., Nov. 30, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kipling and Jane stations for planned track-level work. TTC crews will be upgrading signals and replacing a mechanical track switch.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers with accessibility needs can also take the 149 Etobicoke-Bloor Accessibility Shuttle buses which operates between Kipling and High Park stations. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.

Grenview Boulevard Entrance at Royal York Station will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets, and connect to surface routes.

Monday to Wednesday – Early nightly closures between Eglinton and Sheppard-Yonge stations

Mon., Dec. 1, to Wed., Dec. 3, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Eglinton and Sheppard-Yonge stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. for planned tunnel work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.


All subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

 

Thursday to Friday – Early nightly closures between Osgoode and College stations

Thurs., Dec. 4, to Fri., Dec. 5, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Osgoode and College stations will end nightly at 12 a.m. for planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Wheel-Trans service will be available for any customer requiring assistance.


King and Queen stations will be closed. All subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
