Upcoming subway closures and service adjustments


The TTC is advising customers of upcoming subway closures and service diversions to accommodate track work and construction, and road closures for weekend events being held in the city.

 

Events

 

Toronto Marathon

 

On Sun., May 4 the Toronto Marathon will result in several road closures from approximately 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The TTC will be diverting bus and streetcar routes in the affected areas. To avoid disruptions to travel plans, customers are strongly encouraged to visit the TTC website for detailed information on route changes and schedules.

Khalsa Day Parade

 

On Sun., May 4 the following bus routes will divert between 12:00 a.m. and 8 p.m., with the exception of the 52 Lawrence West which will divert between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., for the Khalsa Day Parade:

 

  • 36 Finch West
  • 52 Lawrence West
  • 96 Wilson
  • 927 Highway 27 Express

 

Ontario Police Memorial Foundation Ceremony of Remembrance

 

On Sun., May 4 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the 13 Avenue Road and 94 Wellesley routes will divert during the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation Ceremony of Remembrance.

 

Construction

 

  • On Sat., May 3 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., the 75 Sherbourne service will redirect onto Parliament St. between Dundas St. and Gerrard St. due to a crane lift.

     

  • Between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. nightly, from Mon., May 5 to Thurs., May 8, the 501/301 Queen westbound streetcars will divert to accommodate Toronto Water sewer repairs at Richmond St. and Yonge St. Westbound streetcar service will run along King St. between York St. and Church St.

     

  • From 11 p.m. on Mon., May 5 until 4 a.m. on Tues., May 6, the 504B/304 King and 505/305 Dundas will divert due to TTC infrastructure and city work. 504B/304 King will service stops up to Queen St. and Broadview Ave. Replacement buses will run between King St. and Bay St. to Broadview Station. 505/305 Dundas streetcars will divert onto Queen St. between Parliament St. and Broadview Ave. Replacement buses will run between Dundas St. and Gerrard St. to Broadview Station.

     

  • Starting at 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, from Tues., May 6 until Fri., May 9, the 510 Spadina streetcar route will be replaced by buses from Spadina to Union stations for planned TTC infrastructure and city work at various locations along Spadina Ave.

 

Monday to Thursday – Early nightly subway closure between Sheppard-Yonge and College stations

 

Mon., May 5 through Thurs., May 8, subway service on the portion of Line 1 Yonge-University between Sheppard-Yonge and College stations will end nightly at 11 p.m. to accommodate planned track work.

A frequent shuttle bus service will run, stopping at each station along the route. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

Lawrence and Summerhill stations will be closed. All other subway stations will remain open for customers to purchase PRESTO fares, tickets and connect to surface routes.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.
