TTC goes All In to celebrate Pride

The TTC today unveiled this year’s highly anticipated Pride Bus, specially designed to declare the transit agency is ‘All In’ with support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The Pride Bus featuring three TTC employees, will operate on the 94 Wellesley route throughout Pride Month beginning June 1.

“Love is love and everyone belongs in our city. The TTC is proud to be All In as we celebrate Pride Month. This month and every month, we recognize the strength and resilience of the 2SLGBTQ+ community,” said Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow. “In Toronto, diversity is our strength and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone. Happy Pride, Toronto!”

“Pride Month is a reminder that progress is only possible when we actively support and uplift every voice,” said TTC Chair Jamaal Myers. “Our commitment to the 2SLGBTQ+ community must be reflected not just in words, but in action and accountability. On behalf of the TTC Board, I want to express my gratitude to the incredible TTC employees featured in this year’s campaign – they truly are going All In to make Toronto a city of belonging."

“The TTC is All In for building a culture of inclusion and belonging, where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work,” said TTC CEO Greg Percy. “Supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community, employees or customers, means embracing diversity and ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of equality."

The Pride Bus was unveiled this morning during a Pride Month celebration at the TTC’s flagship Hillcrest Complex, where employees also raised the Progress Pride Flag.

Throughout June, the Pride bus will operate on the 94 Wellesley route, providing customers with the opportunity to ride in a vibrant and festive vehicle that embodies the spirit of Pride. The bus will also be seen in this year’s Pride Parade and the Trans and Dyke marches.

Also throughout June, an internal multi-media campaign will feature TTC employees as they share what ‘All In’ means to them. The Progress Pride Flag will also be flown at TTC’s Head Office at 1900 Yonge St.
