Today we celebrate Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day, honouring you – TTC employees – who play a crucial role in keeping Toronto moving.

As a TTC employee, you are the heart and soul of our city, committed to getting customers where they need to be regardless of the weather or time of day.

You make people’s lives easier with countless acts of kindness and customer service, from deploying accessible ramps to reuniting customers with lost belongings.

You are there behind the scenes ensuring a safe ride for our customers. From our nerve centre at Transit Control, to the teams of skilled trades maintaining our vehicles, tracks, power, and signals, to those who work in offices keeping things running behind the scenes – you are the backbone that makes the TTC a world-class transit system.

Transit is not an easy job, and while your efforts are acknowledged and appreciated throughout the year, Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day is a reminder for all of us to express our gratitude and recognize the essential role you play.
