More than 50 TTC bus stops taken out of service due to slippery roads

The TTC has taken 56 bus stops in hilly areas out of service as reports of worsening road conditions are received from operators.

The winter weather currently over Toronto has made for slippery conditions and if the buses stop, they could get stuck.

Winter weather information signs are installed at these stops to provide valuable information to customers, including details about service disruptions and the location of the nearest in-service bus stop. By scanning a QR code on the signs, customers can easily check if their bus stop is affected by severe weather conditions.

The TTC is committed to providing a safe and reliable service in the most extreme weather, but operations can be impacted by road conditions.

Already some bus and streetcar routes are on diversion, including 29 Dufferin, 929 Dufferin Express, 95 York Mills and 7 Bathurst and 506 Carlton.

Customers are advised to visit ttc.ca for real-time route updates and follow @TTCNotices on X, and to allow extra travel time during the storm.
