TTC employees collect holiday donations in 18th annual Stuff-the-Bus campaign

TTC employee volunteers are lighting up the holiday season for families in need through the 18th annual “Stuff-the-Bus” campaign this weekend, delivering joy and support to thousands of children and families across Toronto.

“Toronto is a city that cares, and the TTC is transit that cares. The Stuff-the-Bus campaign is a wonderful example of how we come together to make the holidays brighter for families who need it most,” said Mayor Olivia Chow. “I encourage everyone to give what they can and spread joy this season.”

"The TTC is more than a transit system – it’s part of the fabric of our city,” said TTC Chair Jamaal Myers. “Stuff-the-Bus shows the heart of our employees and the generosity of our riders and the community. Every gift makes a difference.”

“For 18 years, Stuff-the-Bus has been a tradition that reflects TTC employees’ commitment to the community they serve,” said TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali. “I am extremely proud of our employees who volunteer their time to make this happen and highlight core TTC values of compassion, empathy, and making a difference. Together, we can make this holiday season special for thousands of children and families.”

TTC volunteers will collect new, unwrapped toys and gifts to fill TTC buses parked outside retail locations across the city.

All donations will be distributed to local charities supporting children and families, including Sick Kids, Abuse Hurts, BGC Dovercourt Club, Jane Street Hub, Project Hope, Progress Place, Yonge Street Mission, Salvation Army, Red Door Shelter, and Elmbank Community Centre.

What to Donate

Those who wish to donate are encouraged to consider new, unwrapped gifts suitable for children aged 7 to 15 years.

  • For babies and young children: toys, books, and clothing.
  • For tweens and teens (10+): hoodies, sports gear, curling irons, makeup kits, electronics, books, board games, scarves, gloves, and gift cards.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of Torontonians, TTC employees collected more than 10,000 toys and gifts for families in need.
