Take the TTC to High Park this weekend for hassle-free access to the cherry blossoms

As Toronto’s cherry blossoms enter peak bloom, High Park is a must-visit destination this weekend. For a hassle-free journey, visitors can easily access High Park by taking the subway, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, to High Park Station.

Elevator service is not available between the subway platforms and street level at High Park Station. For those requiring elevator service, it is recommended to take the subway to Keele Station and board an eastbound 189 Stockyards bus to High Park.

Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak to any TTC staff member for assistance. Wheel-Trans customers can also schedule their trip to High Park by using the self-booking website, or on the Wheel-Trans app.

Subway closures and service diversions

There are planned closures on parts of the transit network this weekend. Customers are advised to check before they travel by visiting www.ttc.ca or following the TTC on X @TTCNotices.

Full weekend subway closure between Kennedy and Woodbine stations

This Sat., Apr. 20 and Sun. Apr. 21, there will be no subway service on the portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Kennedy and Woodbine stations. This closure is to facilitate infrastructure work for the future re-signalling of Line 2 with Automatic Train Control (ATC).

Shuttle buses will run, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations. Customers who require Wheel-Trans service can speak with any TTC customer service staff member for assistance.

All subway stations will remain open for customers to load PRESTO cards, purchase PRESTO tickets and connect to surface routes. At Victoria Park Station, the Teesdale entrance leading to the westbound platform will be closed.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work. More information on the Line 2 ATC Project can be found at: https://www.ttc.ca/about-the-ttc/projects-and-plans/Major-Projects/Line-2-Automatic-Train-Control

Friday – Saturday nightly 505 Dundas streetcar diversions

Fri., Apr. 19 and Sat., Apr. 20, streetcars on the 505 Dundas streetcar route will be diverting nightly between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. to accommodate streetcar track repairs on Dundas St. E., between Parliament and Church streets.

Streetcars will be diverting both ways between Broadview Ave. and Bay St., running along Gerrard St. E., Carlton, and College streets. Replacement buses will be operating along Dundas St., between Broadview Station and University Ave.

The TTC is committed to keeping customers informed about work and events that impact service, as well as alternate route options. For the most up-to-date information, follow @TTCNotices on X or sign up for eAlerts.
